A former colleague once called me a bulldog. He even gave me a small stuffed bulldog puppy, which I still have. While at first I thought it was a negative characteristic (which is the way he made it feel to me), I now think it is the best thing about me: as a professional, it’s my job to move things forward and get things done. I’m not afraid to take the lead and it’s actually my favorite part about working life – being responsible for your own results and that of a team.
And sometimes, when I’m feeling less-than-confident about something or other, the title of this website reminds me to get over it and just move forward.
I got to thinking that I probably wasn’t the only woman out there who has been chided for being ‘aggressive’ or ‘too proactive’ (yes, a former manager has actually told me that). I think that is all bull!*#! frankly.
Let’s get things done ladies, and have a great time doing it.
